The Generosity Paradigm
Since the time of the Buddha, these teachings have been offered freely from teacher to student, while the community of students supported the teachers (monks and nuns) by providing food, medicine and robes. Student and teacher existed within the structure of generosity…teacher freely offering knowledge and instruction, student freely offering what the teachers needed to live. This tradition of generosity continues to guide teachers and students today, offering a paradigm within which everyone flourishes. In modern day Western society, instead of food and clothing, students tend to offer an energy exchange in the form of money.
I, too, offer these teachings freely. And, your generosity helps me continue to teach and learn.
This generosity paradigm may feel unfamiliar. Yet, through this model, access to teachings increase, payment can match our budget and we get an opportunity to consider the impact of the gifts we are receiving.
To accommodate this model, you will note that all of my offerings (except those through Hirsch Wellness Network) have a tiered payment system ranging from no cost to a Sustaining Rate (a higher payment that helps me offer this flexible system). When registering, consider your budget and needs when deciding which rate and consider what you’re receiving as well.
You can also make a general donation via the donate button should you feel called to.
[Hirsch Wellness Network offerings are free of charge for all participants. The Hirsch Wellness program is for those affected by a cancer diagnosis, past or present, in oneself or a loved one, including caregivers and medical personnel working with cancer patients.
Hirsch Wellness supports the emotional and physical needs of cancer survivors, patients in treatment, and caregivers by providing therapeutic arts and wellness programs that celebrate the power of self-expression and self-healing to cultivate strength, renew spirit and foster hope.]
